Fri 6 April – Dash & Splash at BRAC

Broome Recre­ation and Aquatic Cen­tre, 5pm. Run and swim your way to fit­ness and fun. Short course is a 2km run and 200m swim, while long course is a 4km run and 400m swim, with cat­e­gories for se­niors, ju­niors and teams. En­try forms on the Shire web­site or from BRAC on 9191 8720 or brac@broome.wa.gov.au.

Sun 8 April – Beach 2 Bay Vir­tual Swim

Broome Recre­ation and Aquatic Cen­tre, 7am. Have you ever won­dered how far it is to swim from Ca­ble Beach to Town Beach in Roe­buck Bay? The an­swer is 20km, and that’s the dis­tance of the in­au­gu­ral Beach 2 Bay Vir­tual Swim to be held in the BRAC swim­ming pool. Reg­is­tra­tion forms are avail­able on the Shire web­site, from BRAC or Sport­sPower.

Sat 14 April – Com­edy Gold

Broome Civic Cen­tre, doors open 7pm for 8pm show. Com­edy Gold de­liv­ers a knock­out ex­pe­ri­ence of the finest stand-up co­me­di­ans Aus­tralia has to of­fer, with award-win­ning co­me­di­ans, in­ter­na­tional acts and TV per­son­al­i­ties care­fully se­lected to en­ter­tain au­di­ences 18-plus. Sun 6 May – Syd­ney Writ­ers’ Fes­ti­val – Live & Lo­cal

Broome Pub­lic Li­brary, 11.30am-3.30pm. Syd­ney Writ­ers’ Fes­ti­val is the largest fo­rum cel­e­brat­ing books and ideas in the south­ern hemi­sphere, and the world’s finest au­thors and es­teemed thinkers will be streamed live at Broome Pub­lic Li­brary, with the op­por­tu­nity to par­tic­i­pate in Q&A ses­sions by send­ing ques­tions di­rect to the Syd­ney stage. Join us to cel­e­brate books, chal­lenge ideas, and in­ter­ro­gate power.
