Eight-month-old doberman Jett risked his life to save his playmate, three-year-old kelpie Honey, from a shark attack near Gantheaume Point.
Owner Lyn Powell said she was enjoying a morning walk when Honey was pulled under the water yelping after jumping in to look for her toy rope, leading to Jett leaping to the rescue.
Honey escaped the attack shaken but unscathed.

A twist of events allowed Kimberley women a chance to strut their stuff to compete for a spot at the national final of the Miss Universe competition.
A former pageant organiser was organising regional finals in Broome, Bunbury and Geraldton to open up the competition, but the events were later cancelled due to contract disputes.
However, there was a major turnaround, allowing the regional finals to take place.
FIVE YEARS AGO April 4, 2013
Tributes flooded in after the death of former Kimberley MP Ernie Bridge in Perth on March 31.
The 76-year-old was WA’s first Aboriginal MP and the first indigenous Cabinet minister in any Australian government.
The outspoken country singer served as Kimberley MLA from 1980 to 2001.
