Teen held on multiple charges
A teenager accused of raping a fouryear-old boy in bush on the outskirts of Halls Creek is also facing charges of molesting two other young children, a court was told recently.
In a case described by local police as disturbing and shocking, the 16-year-old boy, who cannot be named, was charged with two counts of sexually penetrating the child near the small Kimberley town earlier this month.
A member of the public alerted police to the alleged sex assault about 5pm, which led to officers rushing to the scene.
The teenager appeared briefly in Perth Children’s Court by video-link from Banksia Hill Juvenile Detention Centre where it was revealed he was facing further charges “of a similar nature” relating to the four-year-old, as well as two other children, aged five and seven. He was remanded in custody to appear in court again next week.
