The sands of Ca­ble Beach were trans­formed into a polo par­adise last week­end when ma­jes­tic ponies and their rid­ers thrilled the crowds dur­ing the Airnorth Ca­ble Beach Polo.

The pro­fes­sional polo ponies em­barked on an ex­ten­sive jour­ney to com­pete in the two-day tour­na­ment, while their rid­ers flocked to Broome from Perth, Bri­tain and even Malaysia.

More than 1000 peo­ple at­tended the mar­quees over the two days and hun­dreds of beach-go­ers watched from around the stun­ning sands of Ca­ble Beach.

Fash­ion­ably dressed guests en­joyed cham­pagne and canapes as they soaked up all the sun, sand and ac­tion from the lux­ury VIP mar­quee.

Coun­try singer-song­writer Chelsea Basham also per­formed in be­tween polo matches, while Airnorth Ca­ble Beach Polo sta­ple DJ Dai­mon Downey brought the good vibes dur­ing his sets.

The Matso’s tent also at­tracted hun­dreds of peo­ple, with DJ Hail Mary pro­vid­ing the same at­mos­phere as at the open­ing party that took place at the Man­grove Ho­tel.

Other events in­cluded a nov­elty hobby-horse race for guests to par­tic­i­pate in, an auc­tion for a cus­tom piece of art­work by renowned lo­cal artist James Down, and the polo af­ter-party at the Man­grove Ho­tel.

Broome In­ter­na­tional Air­port took on the Man­grove Ho­tel in the first match of the : ond day.
