Flames leap into ac­tion

The Flames have started to bring the fire to the com­pe­ti­tion af­ter de­feat­ing Ca­ble Beach 46-18 in the third round of the 2018 Broome net­ball sea­son.

The Flames took the first goal of the match, al­though Ca­ble Beach were quick to re­ply. But that did not faze the Flames as they con­tin­ued scor­ing goal af­ter goal.

Af­ter the main break, the Flames be­gan to ramp up the de­fen­sive pres­sure, keep­ing Ca­ble Beach down to scor­ing just three points in each of the re­main­ing quar­ters.

Ul­ti­mately, the Flames were too strong for Ca­ble Beach, with the fi­nal mar­gin 28 points.

Else­where in di­vi­sion 1, the Old Girls re­mained un­de­feated thanks to a 47-27 win over Towns.

In di­vi­sion 2, Scorchers de­feated Fire­birds 41-23, the Flames Blaz­ers beat the Flames 40-26, and the Broomies man­aged a nar­row vic­tory over the Scorps 32-30.

In di­vi­sion 3, Bul­lets de­feated Run Like the Winded 44-17, The Pi­rates held off Stingers 40-33, and Not Quite Di­a­monds man­aged a third vic­tory over Jija Bops 51-35.

In a tight di­vi­sion 4, the Flames Di­a­monds de­feated the Crouch­ing Tigers 26-25, and the Bin Chick­ens de­feated the Pinc­tada Pearls 21-20.
