Town Beach, 5pm-9pm. Browse stalls show­cas­ing hand­made prod­ucts, jew­ellery, cloth­ing and art. Tempt your palate with a de­li­cious se­lec­tion of food and bev­er­ages be­fore sit­ting back to soak up the tunes of Broome mu­si­cians. Please note that road clo­sures will be in place. Thu 31 May – Or­di­nary Meet­ing of Coun­cil

Shire of Broome Coun­cil Cham­bers, 5pm. An Or­di­nary Meet­ing of Coun­cil is held on the fourth Thurs­day of each month. The com­mu­nity is in­vited to at­tend, and Public Ques­tion Time is held at the start of the meet­ing. Info on meet­ings, agen­das and min­utes, public ques­tion time and sub­mit­ting pe­ti­tions can be viewed at www.broome. wa.gov.au.

Tues 5 – Thurs 7 Jun - Na­tional Na­tive Ti­tle Con­fer­ence

Ca­ble Beach. In its 40th an­niver­sary year, the Kim­ber­ley Land Coun­cil has been se­lected as co-con­venor of the 2018 Na­tional Na­tive Ti­tle Con­fer­ence. The con­fer­ence will be staged by AIATSIS, to­gether with the KLC, and hosted by Yawuru. The event co­in­cides with the 40th an­niver­sary of the KLC’s for­ma­tion at Noonkan­bah – the site of one of the most sig­nif­i­cant land rights dis­putes in Aus­tralia’s his­tory. With over 800 del­e­gates from around the coun­try, the con­fer­ence is one of Aus­tralia’s largest gath­er­ings of Abo­rig­i­nal and Tor­res Strait Is­lander peo­ple in the na­tive ti­tle sec­tor.
