Outdoors October is run to celebrate WA’s natural landscape and remind people of the range of outdoor activities on offer.

Sport and Recreation Minister Mick Murray said after a long, cold winter, it was time to enjoy the outdoors.

“Western Australia’s natural landscape is incredibly special, so if you’re not a regular visitor to the outdoors, this is the time to get out and go for a walk, find a cycle path or take to the water,” he said.

“Being outdoors is not only good for your physical health but it’s great for your mental wellbeing too, so why not try a new activity or just grab some mates for a game in your local park?”
