Expert Advice:

Ensure a better financial outcome from long- term professionals

GCR Financial provides advice on maintaining your financial needs.

C2G Financial Services has been servicing clients throughout the Wide Bay, Sunshine Coast, Brisbane and Gladstone regions for more than 35 years.

The business has clearly shown it is here for the long term and continues to offer the long-term services and relationships that have been established over the years.

Louise Jealous-Bennett, a superannuation specialist with an accountancy background with firmly grounded family roots in Bundaberg, has been the proprietor of C2G since 2006.

She highlights that since then, the world of financial planning has changed a lot – many clients find themselves in either outdated products or services with very high fees and no great returns.

“We wanted to join an independent financial services enterprise, one not owned by any bank, insurance company, fund manager or superannuation provider, so we could operate freely without institutional restriction or bias,” she said.

“That is how we found GCR Financial and amalgamated with them late last year.

“We can now provide superior advice and services which are in our clients’ best interest, not the institution’s best interest.”

Gye Duncan is the managing director of GCR Financial Pty Ltd (AFS and ACL no.333543).

GCR stands for Gye, his wife, Cara, and their daughter, Ruby.

GCR has grown to more than 6000 clients Australia-wide, serviced by experienced and loyal staff in three locations: Brisbane and Norfolk Island, Tamworth and Bundaberg.

Mr Duncan brings more than 23 years of industry experience and knowledge to the diverse team that is GCR and said he believed in learning from the past while being a forward-looking optimist, a strategic calculator and a persistent achiever.

“The flow of success interconnects with both personal life and business life,” he said.

“For me, I love my work, so it doesn’t seem like work at all. “Attitude is everything and I like working with people of similar positive attitudes.”

Being regulated by the Australian Securities and Investment Commissions, GCR employs a full-time compliance manager, Marielle Andrew, to ensure all client dealings are in accordance with the relevant laws and regulations.

GCR/C2G’s independence and specialist level of expertise in the areas of financial analysis and investment management has enabled them to improve many of their clients’ investment portfolios with more flexibility, lower fees and higher net returns. They have been particularly successful in doing so in the areas of self-managed super funds, retirement planning and retirement income streams.

GCR/C2G has a team of dedicated, highly trained staff in a range of areas of expertise.

Chris Palmer has more than 38 years of industry experience, during which he has won many awards.

He continues working as a financial adviser from the office on Woondooma St, alongside Ms Jealous-Bennett.

“This building was originally a corner store around the 1900s, selling daily commodities, and we still have many of the items from back in those days on display,” he said.

The team is supported by Maryelen Collins, who has years of senior administrative experience and knowledge under her belt.

If you are interested in having your investments or superannuation reviewed,to find out if you can achieve a better outcome, GCR/C2G is here to help you.
