China Airlines and JAL increase codeshare
TAIWANESE carrier China Airlines and Japan’s flag carrier Japan Airlines (JAL) have signed an MOU to increase their passenger and cargo cooperation.
As of mid-February, the two airlines have begun codesharing on all routes between Taiwan and Japan. This increases the number of codeshare flights from the 28 weekly services on the Taipei (Songshan)-Tokyo (Haneda) route, to around 240 flights to destinations including Tokyo (Narita), Osaka, Kaohsiung and Tainan.
Meanwhile, JAL also recently announced it would begin flying between Haneda and New York from April 1, using a four-class B777-300ER.
