HONG KONG AIRLINES’ long-awaited new business class seats have finally arrived with the Rockwell Collins-designed “Super Diamond” fully flat beds, set to debut on regional flights to Bangkok before officially launching on its Los Angeles service later this year.

The airline’s fifth Airbus A350-900 aircraft is the first to see the new seats – the previous four feature the airline’s older business class product. Notably, these seats offer two inches more in length and three inches more in width than the previous seat, resulting in a 78 x 26-inch bed. Laid out in a 1-2-1 reverse herringbone configuration, the seats allow for direct aisle access for all passengers.

Hong Kong Airlines has also introduced a new AVANT in-flight entertainment (IFE) system, developed by Thales Group, with a larger 17-inch high-definition screen.
