“Continuing the Sigma Art line’s tradition of excellence in lens

design, the 12-24mm zoom delivers impressive ultra-wide capabilities on full-35mm D-SLR bodies combined with a constant aperture of f4.0. The 16-element optical construction includes ‘F Low Dispersion’ (FLD) types which have the ultra-low dispersion characteristics of fluorite glass to effectively correct for chromatic aberrations. It also includes the world’s largest-diameter moulded glass aspherical element to help minimise distortion and vignetting. An updated version of Sigma’s HSM autofocusing drive is 1.3x quicker. The external barrel is sealed to provide weather protection while a special water- and oil-repellent coating is used on the exposed surfaces of the front and rear elements. Additionally, the lens mount is machined from brass to give extra durability.”
