FUJIFILM SHOWCASE 2018
The 2018 Fujifilm Showcase is now open, so get those entries in and have a chance to see your best shots in print. And this issue we also announce the winner of the 2017 competition’s grand prize. Entering is easy and you can do it online by submitting images to email@example.com or send us digital files on a DVD or USB drive.
No doubt motivated by this year’s highly-desirable grand prize – a Fujifilm X-Pro2 mirrorless camera with an XF 23mm f2.0 lens – there was a flurry of entries in the months up to the closing date. Consequently, the last two rounds were very hotly contested, but the standard of entries for the whole year of competition was very high indeed. This gave the grand prize judges plenty to think about, but in the end, their decision was unanimous and this year’s Fujifilm Showcase champion is Steven Sandner from Victoria.
As it happens, Steven won the last round of the 2017 competition with a stunning waterfall study which demonstrated excellent skills in framing, composition and using a long exposure time. Steven used a Panasonic Lumix G10 fitted with a 45-200mm zoom lens, but obviously he’ll shortly be upgrading the Fujifilm X-Pro2. Congratulations to Steven, but also the other five finalists in 2017 and thanks, once again, to Fujifilm Australia for its ongoing support of Showcase.
