CANON EF 200-400 F4.0L IS USM EXTENDER 1.4X

Camera - - IN PRACTICE | WILDLIFE PHOTOGRAPHY -

Canon was first with the concept of incorporating a teleconverter into a zoom lens and, while this arrangement adds significantly to purchase price, there’s no doubting the convenience. At a flick of a lever the 200-400mm f4.0 becomes a 280-560mm f5.6 supertelephoto zoom. There’s a whopping 25 elements in there (33 when the teleconverter is in play), but this is a Canon L series lens so the optical performance is guaranteed and the optical stabiliser gives up to four stops of correction for camera shake. Weather proofing further extends this lens’s capabilities in the wilds. $13,999 (estimated average street price). Visit www.canon.com.au
