AF-S NIKKOR 600MM F4.0E FL ED VR II

Camera - - IN PRACTICE | WILDLIFE PHOTOGRAPHY -

OK, so this is a very big lens with a very big price tag, but it’s a very powerful tool for wildlife photographers. It’s also the world’s lightest 600mm f4.0 prime telephoto (in the full-35mm format), although it still weighs in at just over 3.8 kilograms so you’ll need to factor in carrying a tripod too. But 600mm with a maximum aperture of 4.0 is an appealing combination, and Nikon’s supertelephoto also has brilliant optics (which include two fluorite-type elements), optical image stabilisation (for up to four stops of correction), weather sealing and a function for presetting a focus point (to help save precious time). $19,999.
