“Delivering an effective focal length range of 28-620mm (35mm format equivalent) on ‘APS-C’ D-SLRs , Tamron’s ultra-zoom has a massive 22.2x focal range, yet it’s only 121.4 millimetres in length and weighs 706 grams. It features a moisture-resistant external construction while, on the inside, it employs quite a number of advanced lens technologies, including Tamron’s HLD (‘High/Low torque-modulated Drive’) which is smaller and more efficient while enabling smoother and faster AF operation. A new barrel design facilitates the distribution of complex movements across three cams, insuring smooth zooming over such a long focal range. To expand its capabilities even further, the zoom’s minimum focusing distance is just 45 centimetres.”
