In an exhilarating hour of netball, it was an unfortunate loss by four goals against the fourth-placed Echuca.

The Tigerettes got off to a great start with decisive changes of direction and accurate passes through the mid court, Echuca had to work overtime to keep up.

Maddie Egglestone, unable to train Thursday night due to illness, left enough in the tank, combining with Bridgette Holt in defence, both were magnificent, placing extreme pressure on the Echuca shooters and produced countless turnovers which were lapped up by Maddy Holt.

Tess Ringin constantly applied pressure all over the court and stopped her opponents drive.

Rach Whipp came on at half time in centre and instantly made a difference, creating space and dictating the ball down the court.

Ellie Cuttriss was dynamic off the line, receiving most of the centre passes in the game.

Vivacious Morgan Dingwall was great in goals alongside Britt Hercus until injury in the third, Kailey Chapman after a full game in B Grade as a defender replaced Hercus and soon found the centre of the goal ring.

B grade came out with consistent and beautifully driving of the ball down the court.

Coach Colleen Egglestone and team manager Linda Riding couldn't have been more excited with the girls’ first quarter, vocally praising the girls individually and giving the thumbs up during game time.

Lucy Ward and Rylea Cuttriss teamed up well under the goals and caused a headache for the Echuca defenders by making a screen and creating prime position under the ring.

Unfortunately for Cuttriss, in fine form, a niggly calf muscle made her call injury time midway in the final quarter.

The defensive end had their work cut out against very accurate shooters but Kailey Chapman's graceful holds over the ball and Shannen Keath’s agility made their opponents earn every pass.

The mid court of Lil Ward, Jenna Herring and Shaeden Riding worked tirelessly.

Rochester led by five goals in the first quarter, three in the second but Echuca edged its way back into the game after a strong third quarter, outscoring Rochy by nine goals.

In the end it was a gallant effort all round by the B grade team suffering an eight goal loss.

B reserve

Results: Echuca 50 d Rochester 29. Goals: Phebe Baines (10), Sahra Brooks (7), Maddie Frawley (6) and Nicola Lehmann (6). Best: Phebe Baines, Maddie Frawley and Rach Beames.

Coach Sahra Brooks made her debut return for the season, playing the first and last quarters of the game.

Unlike the years of Matty Lloyd throwing up some grass to judge the breeze it was only a quick three seconds to take the shot, Sahra had found her mojo, swishing through some fantastic goals alongside captain Maddie Frawley and Nicola Lehmann.

Rach Beams used her fast pace to create many options with Naomi Riordan feeding into the goalers.

Romy Bowen, Grace Wachter, Kelly Shotton and Kristie Hedington had their work cut out against physical players and accurate shooters but still produced some great turnovers.

Phebe Baines once again dominated the play showing her versatility both ends of the court, with her strong body standing her ground against tough opponents.

Although, winning the third quarter it wasn't enough to regain the deficit, going down by 22 goals, the loss pushing the team to eighth and the chance to play finals into jeopardy.

Maddie Adams retuned from her ankle injury to help put much needed pressure on the Echuca shooters alongside Zali Hocking.
