Shire to pay for youth bash
CAMPASPE Shire is inviting applications from the community to run a National Youth Week event next year.
Council is providing grants up of to $500 to towns, schools, agencies, community groups or organisations who would like to work in partnership with young people to organise local events or activities during the national week, which runs from March 31 to April 9.
‘‘The grant could be used for a variety of things, such as a movie night, sports event, activities day or a bus trip,’’ economic and community development general manager Keith Oberin said.
‘‘National Youth Week empowers young people to activate their ideas about how to recognise and celebrate their achievements with support available from our youth engagement team.’’
There are six grants avail- able, with a range of criteria to be met, including that the event be alcohol and drug free, accessible to all young people and occur in the shire during National Youth Week.
Applications are open and close at 5pm on Friday.
Application forms are available on council’s website or by contacting youth engagement officer Scott Thomson on 5481 2200 or at firstname.lastname@example.org
