AnglicanChristmas Tree Exhibition
Rochester Shire Hall

IT IS beginning to look a lot like Christmas. Trees, decorations and plenty of cheer have a funny way of doing that. Rochester’s shire hall was decked to the halls with boughs of holly — and dozens of decorations on Friday and Saturday. That’s because it was the annual Anglican Church Christmas Tree Exhibition. Hundreds of visitors passed through the hall during the two-day display, which organiser Wyn Hodgens said passed without a hitch. ‘‘It has been a great eleventh year,’’ she said. ‘‘The kids always love it and it’s so great to get the community involved with Christmas. ‘‘Some of the displays were very innovative there was clearly lots of thought that went into them.’’ Mrs Hodgens thanked volunteers, residents and businesses for supporting the event. Visitors Margaret McCarty, Melody Russell and Beryl Fisher took home raffle prizes including a hamper, Caltex voucher and Majors IGA voucher.
