Cooma tames Tigers batsmen

Campaspe News - - LOCAL CLASSIES - — Ben Carter

ROCHESTER Tigers lost at home to a side rather in the ascendancy in Goulburn Murray A grade cricket, and now find themselves sitting eighth on the ladder, below Echuca.

And it doesn’t get any easier next weekend as a potentially tricky trip to Tongala awaits.

Not for the first time this summer Cooma’s batting was a highlight, with the visitors making 9/317 at Windridge Oval on day one before bowling out the Tigers for 162.

The locals used nine bowlers to try and find a better pace of breakthroughs on the first day’s play before Chris Holliday managed to hit 74 runs in the reply.

Earlier he’d taken 4/76 with the ball to clearly finish as the Tigers’ best individual performer.

Unfortunately the home team lost their last six batsmen for 63.
