Rochester girls are jumping for hoops

Campaspe News - - LOCAL CLASSIES -

ROCHESTER Basketball Association has made history with the first under 18 girls squad named this season.

It’s an exciting prospect for the club and the community who have only had a boys side in the previous two years.

The boys squad has been successful in its basketball pursuits, winning one tournament and playing in two grand finals in 2015.

The girls are hoping to achieve the same results when they compete this weekend at a tournament in Shepparton.

The team will certainly look the part when they take the court wearing new uniforms which have been donated by Rochester Twilight Netball Association.

The RBA is thankful for the generosity and help from the netball association to enable the players to represent Rochester and wear the uniforms with great pride.

Karen Fuller has been selected as coach of the girls squad.
