Spot a Santa and have a very merry Christmas
A COMPETITION challenging children to find cutouts of Santa and his elves inside Rochester businesses kicks off today.
It is organised by Rochester District Planning Group in partnership with Rochester Business Network and runs until December 20. And you could even win some cash. Organiser Val Gledhill said the initiative was aimed at encouraging people to visit Rochester’s stores.
‘‘While the kids are searching for these little creatures, the parents might see a pair of shoes and end up buying them,’’ she said.
But Mrs Gledhill said the cutouts could also be hidden in other places around Rochester.
‘‘They could be hiding anywhere — in shops, in businesses or just on the street,’’ she said.
Cash prizes are on offer to the three children who find the most cutouts.
To take part, children have to write their name, age and address on a piece of paper, along with the locations they have found Santas or elves — and they must specify which one they have found.
‘‘When you think you have found all that is possible, put your entry in a box on the bench at the front of Majors IGA store,’’ Mrs Gledhill said.
Entries close on December 20, with the winner to be announced in the December 21 edition of Campaspe News— allowing winners to collect their prizes before Christmas.
