Christ­mas lunch doesn’t have to be spent all alone

ROCHESTER’s Sal­va­tion Army is urg­ing res­i­dents with­out plans this Christ­mas to not spend the day alone and come share a tra­di­tional Christ­mas lunch with others in the same sit­u­a­tion.

The Har­ris fam­ily has hosted the lunch for more than a decade and it usu­ally at­tracts more than 40 peo­ple.

Lor­raine Har­ris said new- com­ers were al­ways welcome to join the fes­tiv­i­ties of the day.

‘‘Ev­ery­thing is sup­plied, just bring your­self, whether you are sin­gle or a cou­ple and will be home with no fam­ily to share this spe­cial day with,’’ Lor­raine said.

‘‘We would love to share this day with you. It is a friendly fam­ily en­vi­ron­ment and even Santa will be mak­ing a spe­cial stop.’’

The lunch is on Christ­mas Day at the Sal­va­tion Army hall in El­iz­a­beth St, Rochester, start­ing at noon.
