Ballendella Red Cross banks on the community
THE Ballendella Red Cross had a successful street stall on Friday, May 12, selling a delectable selection of baked goods and knitted beanies in Rochester.
Branch member Lyn Kyden said although the number of people out and about shopping was quieter than expected the stall still managed to raise around $1000.
‘‘All the goodies were eagerly purchased - the baked items were popular but with winter nearly here so were the beanies,’’ she said.
‘‘We would also like to give many thanks to all of our members, friends and the community for their wonderful contributions to the huge raffle we ran and for which there were three prizes.
‘‘And we genuinely value and appreciate all the support the local communities give to the Australian Red Cross.
The next Ballendella Red Cross meeting will be held on the second Thursday in June.
