Splashdown at morning tea
ROCHESTER’S Splash ‘N’ Learn is inviting you to morning tea.
And not just any morning tea — the Cancer Council’s Biggest Morning Tea from 11am to 3pm this Wednesday, May 31.
For a gold coin donation drop past 78 Pascoe Street for food, tea, coffee and Milo.
Rochester born and bred Splash ‘N’ Learn owner Maree Macague said it’s the first time the business is running the event.
‘‘It’s something I’ve been wanting to do for ages; cancer has touched us like it has touched everyone - for me it was my father and father-in-law,’’ she said.
‘‘The idea is we are running it throughout the day so people can stop past when they are free and bring a plate to share.
‘‘Our goal is to raise $500 and if you want to donate we have tax deductible receipts.
‘‘Lessons will run as usual during the day so it doubles as an end of term celebration.
‘‘We have some great raffle prizes and you can buy tickets from Monday, so if you can’t make it on the day, you can still take part.’’
All proceeds from the day will be donated to the Cancer Council.
