Caravan club is looking to expand its Rochy membership base
THE Southern Riverina Caravan Club members might spend a lot of time on the road – but like they making those trips with friends.
Which is why the club – founded in 2001 – is looking for more people to join.
Club booking secretary Kaye Wendt said SRCC started when a few like-minded families wanting the freedom of weekend get-togethers on the road with their caravans and enjoying the friendship a group with similar interests can supply.
Kaye said initially most members had children – celebrated in the club motto ‘The Friendly Family Club’ – but as the years passed and the kids grew up the club was left with a lot of parents.
None of which she said stops those who are still members enjoying the weekend rallies.
“We would certainly welcome any new members and particularly those with families to help revitalise our club,” Kaye said.
“We currently have members from Rochester, Kyabram, Echuca, Moama, Tongala, Leeton, Berrigan, Barham, Wagga, Coleambally, Griffiths, Corowa, Wahgunyah – and assorted towns in between,” she said.
“The club usually runs seven rallies during the year in and around the areas where members are located – normally from September to May.
“We don’t have winter rallies as most members migrate to warmer climates then.”
“Members are encouraged to submit any of their favourite destinations for future rallies and all submissions will be considered,” she said.
