Bank has cash for com­mu­nity groups


AP­PLI­CA­TIONS are now open for the El­more/Lock­ing­ton/Rochester Com­mu­nity Bank branches Com­mu­nity Spon­sor­ship Pro­gram.

In its third round, the Com­mu­nity Spon­sor­ship Pro­gram is open to all or­gan­i­sa­tions and groups in the El­more, Lock­ing­ton and Rochester dis­tricts.

Lock­more Fi­nan­cial Ser­vices chair Brad Drust, who will as­sess the ap­pli­cants, said they were ex­cited to again be re­ceiv­ing ap­pli­ca­tions that would sup­port local pro­grams, pro­jects and events

‘‘We gave away over $40,000 in our first two rounds of this fund­ing pro­gram,’’ he said. ‘‘This was all made pos­si­ble thanks to the cus­tomers of the El­more/ Lock­ing­ton/ Rochester Com­mu­nity Bank.’’

Se­nior branch man­ager Tra­cie Kyne said the more cus­tomers banked with them the more the com­pany could in­vest in the com­mu­nity.

‘‘It’s sim­ple,’’ she said. ‘‘With many other banks turn­ing their backs on re­gional towns like ours we once again prove our com­mit­ment to this com­mu­nity.’’
