IT WAS an absolute nail-biting game when Rochester B reserve travelled to Euroa to take on Shepparton Swans in the semi finals.

Rochester knew it was in for a tough slog against Swans as it had not defeated them all year.

But that didn’t stop their spirit, and after inspiring talks from coach Linda Rasmussen and captain Eliza Hodgens the girls got off to flying start.

The first half started off full of confidence with great team belief and backing each other up.

The defensive duo and best players for the day, Eliza Hodg- ens and Teaghan Bubb, were on fire, lifted by the cheers of the crowd and their number one supporter their grandpa, Vin.

Shooters Brittany Hercus and Nicola Lehman were showing off their silky skills early which was helped by the ever strong mid-court players Jac Rasmussen, Hayley Coghill and Kristie Weekley.

Rochester remained in front until the last quarter where it went goal-for-goal and finished with a draw which meant time on for the girls who had already given it their all.

The intensity of the game didn’t waver in overtime and the girls somehow found the last morsel of strength to power through.

Unfortunately it wasn’t enough and Rochester finished second best 41-32.

It was an amazing effort for the girls to get to where they got.

Thanks to all the supporters at the game, the atmosphere was electric.

Although it wasn’t the result they wanted, they gave it their all and finished off a successful season in a wonderful team.

Congratulations on what you achieved girls.
