So many ways to stay ac­tive

THE sec­ond an­nual Ac­tive Na­tion Day was held on Sun­day, Septem­ber 25 in Rochester.

This saw Jen’s Per­sonal Train­ing part­ner with Rochester Com­mu­nity House at the Rochester Shire Hall where the space was trans­formed into a friendly hub of fit­ness, health and well­be­ing.

Sa­man­tha from Bel­lus Stu­dio was on hand to ed­u­cate peo­ple on skin­care in the harsh sum­mer en­vi­ron­ment, and River­ine Gluten Free had some great spe­cials.

Ash from REDHS and San­dra from RCH were there to show ev­ery­one the great health and well­be­ing classes that both or­gan­i­sa­tions of­fer.

Dar­lene Weeks and Roz Keech, both health and well­be­ing ther­a­pists, pro­vided the crowd with re­lax­ing mini ses­sions of Bowen and Re­me­dial Mas­sage.

Jenna Carnie from Jen’s Per­sonal Train­ing and Chris from GO-AT Fit­ness gave mini ses­sions of their group fit­ness and box­ing classes through­out the day.

Most peo­ple were able to do at least one of each of these classes.

Leanne from RCH held yoga ses­sions, which were pop­u­lar lead­ing into the launch of the new pi­lates classes that will be held at RCH from next term.

Jenna then held a half hour taste of a pi­lates class to fin­ish off the day.

“I want to raise the aware­ness of what Rochester has to of­fer the com­mu­nity as far as fit­ness and health and well­be­ing ser­vice providers go, there is no need to travel out of town and any­one can ac­cess these ser­vices,’’ Jenna said.

“We are rapt with how the day went and are al­ready plan­ning what we can do to make next year’s day big­ger and bet­ter. The pi­lates will be a valu­able as­set to our range of health and well­be­ing classes al­ready on of­fer here at com­mu­nity house,’’ RCH co­or­di­na­tor Amanda Lo­gie said.
