ON MONDAY, September 18, nine students from the Rochester Primary School travelled to Bendigo to compete in the 2017 division athletics carnival.

The students qualified for this event by producing some outstanding results at the zone athletic carnival in Echuca.

The standard of the competition was excellent, with many talented and well trained children participating in all events.

Our students did the school proud, producing some terrific results.

Individual results were as follows: Josh Murray: first in discus and second in shotput. Reed Hocking: fourth in the hurdles final and fourth in discus. Giselle Crawford: fourth in discus. Alannah Weeks: fifth in her 200m heat. Declan Pearse: 11th in the 1500m. Nate Rasmussen: fifth in his 200m heat and ninth in the 1500m. Trey White: fourth in discus and fifth in long jump. Charlize Weeks: fifth in her 200m heat. Natalie Moon: sixth in the 1500m.

A special congratulations to Josh Murray who qualified for both shotput and discus to go through to the regional finals which will be held early next term.

Success there would see him qualify for the state finals.

Thanks to all the parents for driving the children to Bendigo and supporting them throughout the day.
