A 54-YEAR-OLD Echuca woman was taken to Echuca hospital with minor injuries after a crash on the Northern Hwy in Elmore last Thursday.

Emergency services were called to the corner of the Northern and Midland highways about 11.30am.

The car the woman was travelling in collided side-on with a semi-trailer turning right from Midland Hwy.

She was the only occupant of the car.

One lane of the Northern Hwy was shut while the clean-up occurred, with police directing traffic on the busy intersection.

The truck driver walked away with no injuries and no issues with the truck. He drove it back to its Shepparton base.

Sergeant Paul Nicoll of Campaspe Highway Patrol said the corner was notorious for accidents.

“We get a lot of traffic through the area here, including a lot of heavy vehicles,” he said.

“Drivers need to be careful. It is a 60km/h zone in this area and drivers just need to be on the lookout while driving.”
