NSW’s Sharon Fensom is coming back to Rochy after having a year off.

The 2016 runner-up is a signwriter by trade, but paints murals as a hobby.

‘‘I love to paint. This mural represents the nature that is dear to my heart,’’ she said.

She describes her art as energetic, full of spirit with a bit of vibrancy.

Ms Fensom began signwriting as a teenager and said she has always had a passion for art and lettering.

She has been in the signwriting business for 33 years and has drawn for as long as she can remember.

But she is excited to work with acrylic.

‘‘In my signage work I work with enamels, which are oil based and take a while to dry,’’ she said.

‘‘Using acrylic is much easier. It’s a water-based paint, which allows me to work more progressively because it dries much quicker.’’

She said she was confident her entry into the mural festival would be well received.

‘‘I enjoy hearing people’s responses of all ages and seeing how my mural connects with them,’’ she said. ‘‘I am looking forward to coming back to Rochester and I know it will be a fantastic experience.’’

The 2016 runner-up, Sharon Fensom, is back.
