Keep an eye out for care let­ter

IF YOU or a loved one is wait­ing in the na­tional queue for a Home Care Pack­age, you will re­ceive a let­ter 90 days be­fore it is as­signed.

The ‘readi­ness let­ter’ is in­tended to help re­cip­i­ents take the first steps to make an in­formed choice about their care needs, as well as short­list­ing an ap­proved home care provider, such as Rochester and El­more Dis­trict Health Ser­vice, in their lo­cal area.

REDHS pro­vides lo­cal sup­port and ser­vices to as­sist peo­ple to main­tain their in­de­pen­dence, health and com­mu­nity par­tic­i­pa­tion and to help them live com­fort­ably and safely in their own home, for as long as pos­si­ble.

This lo­cal ser­vice also has no start-up, re­assess­ment or exit fees dur­ing the life of a Home Care Pack­age.

If you are wait­ing for your gov­ern­ment– funded pack­age to be­come avail­able, REDHS is able to pro­vide a sub­sidised ser­vice in the mean­time — sub­ject to as­sess­ment by Re­gional As­sess­ment Ser­vice and their deem­ing of el­i­gi­bil­ity.
