Heart starter for sporting clubs
SPORTING clubs in Campaspe will be better equipped for medical emergencies thanks to a defibrillator and training package from the state government.
The following clubs were among 300 successful applicants receiving the package from the latest round of the government’s Defibrillators for Sporting Clubs and Facilities Program:
■ Riding for Disabled Association — Echuca Branch
■ Bamawm Lockington United Cricket Club
■ Goulburn Valley Show Jumping Club
■ Rochester and District Horse and Pony Club With the program’s original target of 1000 packages over-subscribed, it has been extended to deliver more than 1300 packages.
The program ensures clubs and sports venues are on top of their game when it comes to helping players and spectators when they need it most.
Clubs get to boost their first aid skills, improve planning for medical emergencies and ensure players and spectators suffering sudden cardiac arrest quickly get help until paramedics arrive.
