Award for ru­ral women mak­ing a dif­fer­ence

IF you’re a lo­cal woman in pri­mary in­dus­tries, the 2019 Ru­ral Women’s Award wants to hear from you.

Mem­ber for Mur­ray Plains Peter Walsh said the AgriFu­tures award iden­ti­fies and sup­ports emerg­ing fe­male lead­ers who want to cre­ate im­pact, in­no­vate and make a dif­fer­ence to ru­ral and re­gional Aus­tralia.

He said ap­pli­cants can live in ru­ral and re­gional Aus­tralia or in the city but their ap­pli­ca­tions will be mea­sured on the im­pact and ben­e­fits to ru­ral and re­gional Aus­tralia.

“I en­cour­age women in the Mur­ray Plains elec­torate who are ac­tively con­tribut­ing to ru­ral in­dus­tries and re­gional com­mu­ni­ties to ap­ply,” he said.

The win­ner will re­ceive a $10,000 bur­sary to bring their idea or project to life, ac­cess to pro­fes­sional de­vel­op­ment op­por­tu­ni­ties and na­tional alumni net­works.
