COUN­CIL-RUN CAMP­GROUND OVER­HAUL AT SWANSEA GAR­DENS

Cam­pers visit­ing Lake Mac­quarie, NSW, can ex­pect more sites, eas­ier ac­cess and im­proved vis­i­bil­ity after dark on com­ple­tion of camp­ground ren­o­va­tions at Swansea Gar­dens Lake­side Hol­i­day Park.

The works, which cost $500,000, will de­liver 19 new sites for a to­tal of 53 and will in­clude new sul­lage, road­works and power as pre­scribed in a man­age­ment plan ap­proved in 2014.

A new bar­be­cue shel­ter with two dou­ble bar­be­cues sinks and wa­ter will also be erected ad­ja­cent to the camp­ing area, man­aged by Lake Mac­quarie City Coun­cil.

The sites, which are ex­pected to be in op­er­a­tion by Christ­mas, will be suit­able for car­a­vans, cam­per trail­ers and tents.
