COUNCIL-RUN CAMPGROUND OVERHAUL AT SWANSEA GARDENS
Campers visiting Lake Macquarie, NSW, can expect more sites, easier access and improved visibility after dark on completion of campground renovations at Swansea Gardens Lakeside Holiday Park.
The works, which cost $500,000, will deliver 19 new sites for a total of 53 and will include new sullage, roadworks and power as prescribed in a management plan approved in 2014.
A new barbecue shelter with two double barbecues sinks and water will also be erected adjacent to the camping area, managed by Lake Macquarie City Council.
The sites, which are expected to be in operation by Christmas, will be suitable for caravans, camper trailers and tents.
