A larger evaporator, optimised gas heat exchanger and two 12V fans are key features of a new range of Dometic fridges for RVs designed specifically for tropical climes.

The RMDX range, which comprises two different models, has claimed superior cooling performances in both the fridge and freezer compartments.

The fridge is said to perform well in both high and low ambient temperatures. Controlled by temperature, the fans only operate in high temperatures to ensure excellent cooling in the heat, while maintaining energy efficiency in cool conditions.

The interior of the range has also undergone a redesign, with an additional shelf added to take the total number of shelves to four. The RMDX range has inherited the sleek black exterior of its predecessors, while the interior features fresh solid white shelving highlighted by crisp LED lighting. No tools are required to install the shelves.

And the fridge contains no moving parts, meaning it is completely silent during operation – ensuring a good night’s sleep for the van’s occupants.

The range is available in two different models: the RMDX 21 and RMDX 25.

The RMDX 21 model features Manual Energy Selection (MES), while the RMDX 25 model features Automatic Energy Selection (AES).

Dometic’s head of marketing Justine Schuller said: “Extensive research and development has been undertaken to ensure that consumers have the best experience possible. With increased cooling performance and more flexible servicability, we have an enormous amount of confidence in this product range.”
