City makes its move

CITY of Can­ning staff and coun­cil­lors mixed with movers and shak­ers at meet­ings de­signed to progress the City’s de­vel­op­ment pro­gram.

In the past few months, meet­ings were held with State and Fed­eral govern­ment min­is­ters and WA Gover­nor.

In July and Au­gust, City staff, the Mayor and coun­cil­lors met the Gover­nor Kerry San­der­son, Assistant Min­is­ter to the Trea­surer Michael Sukkar, Assistant Min­is­ter for Cities An­gus Tay­lor, Swan MHR Steve Irons, WA Housing Min­is­ter Min­is­ter Peter Tin­ley and Plan­ning, Trans­port and Lands Min­is­ter Rita Saf­fi­oti.

The meet­ing with Mr Sukkar was an op­por­tu­nity to present plans for the City Cen­tre and Bent­ley Re­gen­er­a­tion projects.

The mayor, coun­cil­lors and City staff took Mr Sukkar on a tour of the city cen­tre and Bent­ley re­de­vel­op­ment ar­eas.

In July, Deputy Mayor Lind­say Hol­land, City chief ex­ec­u­tive Arthur Ky­ron and other key staff met Ms Saf­fiot, to in­form her of the City’s plans.

Gover­nor Kerry San­der­son (cen­tre) met with Can­ning Coun­cil­lor Mar­garet Hall, Mayor Paul Ng, Deputy Mayor Lind­say Hol­land and chief ex­ec­u­tive Arthur Ky­ron re­cently.
