City makes its move
COUNCILLORS, STAFF MEET DECISION MAKERS
CITY of Canning staff and councillors mixed with movers and shakers at meetings designed to progress the City’s development program.
In the past few months, meetings were held with State and Federal government ministers and WA Governor.
In July and August, City staff, the Mayor and councillors met the Governor Kerry Sanderson, Assistant Minister to the Treasurer Michael Sukkar, Assistant Minister for Cities Angus Taylor, Swan MHR Steve Irons, WA Housing Minister Minister Peter Tinley and Planning, Transport and Lands Minister Rita Saffioti.
The meeting with Mr Sukkar was an opportunity to present plans for the City Centre and Bentley Regeneration projects.
The mayor, councillors and City staff took Mr Sukkar on a tour of the city centre and Bentley redevelopment areas.
In July, Deputy Mayor Lindsay Holland, City chief executive Arthur Kyron and other key staff met Ms Saffiot, to inform her of the City’s plans.
