Em­ploy­ing skills to make a dif­fer­ence

ROB Beat­tie's ex­cep­tional ser­vice to the lo­cal indige­nous com­mu­nity was re­warded at the Na­tional Em­ploy­ment Ser­vices As­so­ci­a­tion awards.

The Ex­cel­lence in Indige­nous Em­ploy­ment Award was pre­sented to Mr Beat­tie in Mel­bourne on Au­gust 22. The 62-year-old is a co­or­di­na­tor at atWork Aus­tralia in Can­ning­ton, which had fi­nal­ists in four of the five award cat­e­gories.

AtWork Aus­tralia gen­eral manager Michael Kolomy­jec said the group was proud that one of the team had re­ceived an award for their ded­i­ca­tion and com­mit­ment.

“Rob has such a large knowl­edge base of the hur­dles and bar­ri­ers these job seek­ers face and he ac­com­pa­nies them ev­ery step of the way dur­ing the job seek­ing and em­ploy­ment jour­ney,” Mr Beat­tie said.
