Awards snapped up

COM­MU­NITY News­pa­per Group has flown the flag for WA me­dia at this year’s PANPA Awards, bring­ing home three of the state’s four tro­phies from the 2017 News­pa­per of the Year Awards and the 2017 Advertising and Mar­ket­ing Awards.

Pho­tog­ra­pher An­drew Ritchie was again recog­nised for his out­stand­ing work be­hind the cam­era, with his strik­ing im­age taken at last year’s Ar­ca­dia event at Eliz­a­beth Quay named best Com­mu­nity photo in the Fea­tures and Life­style cat­e­gory at the News­pa­per of the Year Awards.

CNG’s Mar­ket­ing team took top hon­ours twice at the Advertising and Mar­ket­ing Awards. Joon­dalup Week­ender’s spon­sor­ship of the City of Joon­dalup’s Sum­mer events series was named Spon­sor­ship of the Year for Com­mu­nity ti­tles, while the group’s Sox n Jox for Home­less­ness Week cam­paign was named Best Cause Re­lated or Com­mu­nity Ser­vice Cam­paign for Com­mu­nity ti­tles.

Chief ex­ec­u­tive Paul EteenBliss said he was ex­tremely proud of the com­pany’s achieve­ments, which had fur­ther ce­mented the com­pany as an in­te­gral part of the lo­cal com­mu­nity.

“A lot of hard work has gone into these awards and it’s great for our staff to get the recog­ni­tion they de­serve,” he said.

An­drew Ritchie’s photo, taken at the Ar­ca­dia show at Eliz­a­beth Quay, won a PANPA Award.
