Nat­u­ral tal­ent makes it a snap for Louisa

AT SIX years of age, Louisa Dono­van is con­sid­ered an ath­lete and has her own In­sta­gram ac­count.

The Fern­dale res­i­dent was se­lected for for­mer WA In­sti­tute of Sport (WAIS) Gym­nas­tics Pro­gram at the age of four, and scored well at the re­cent judges in­vi­ta­tional com­pe­ti­tion.

The com­pe­ti­tion was held in July at the State Gym­nas­tics Cen­tre in Leed­erville, where she gained one of the high­est over­all scores for In­ter­na­tional Level 3.

She se­cured three blue rib­bons, two red rib­bons for sec­ond place, and three green rib­bons for third place earn­ing her a sil­ver medal over­all; no one won gold in this level.

Louisa was orig­i­nally train­ing with Jed­norog Gym­nas­tics at Beck­en­ham, where it be­came ob­vi­ous she had a nat­u­ral tal­ent and amaz­ing up­per body strength.

She now has ac­cess to the state’s best coaches and fa­cil­i­ties and trains three days a week for a to­tal of nine hours.

Louisa Dono­van is only six years old but has al­ready been iden­ti­fied as hav­ing great po­ten­tial.
