Drugs mother fined
A 71-YEAR-OLD woman from Kenwick has been fined after pleading guilty to possession of cannabis she was holding for her son.
When she appeared in Armadale Magistrates Court on Tuesday, her defence lawyer said the woman was holding the drugs for her son, who had fallen three storeys from a building in his 20s, resulting in severe injuries.
The man was still on heavy medication and used a wheelchair and crutches. The woman’s lawyer said cannabis eased the man’s chronic pain.
The magistrate said the mother had been put in a position no mother wanted to be in and fined her $750.
