A NEW Mas­sive Open On­line Course (MOOC) will ex­plore the role of so­cial move­ments, ad­vo­cacy groups and dif­fer­ent forms of ac­tivism in bring­ing about so­cial change.

The Curtin Univer­sity MOOC – called Hu­man Rights Ac­tivism, Ad­vo­cacy and Change – will ex­plore a range of ways to bring about so­cial and po­lit­i­cal changes nec­es­sary to re­alise hu­man rights, in­clud­ing in re­la­tion to is­sues such as gen­der equal­ity, self-de­ter­mi­na­tion and the rights of refugee com­mu­ni­ties.

The MOOC is part of the Mi­croMasters in Hu­man Rights pro­gram and learn­ers must ver­ify, com­plete and pass all three MOOCs in the pro­gram to earn a Mi­croMasters in Hu­man Rights cre­den­tial. This cre­den­tial pro­vides a path­way to Curtin’s Mas­ter of Hu­man Rights de­gree.
