LET’S HELP THEM
I call on politicians and people of conscience – whichever party they represent – to pressure the Prime Minister to take compassionate action now about the situation at Manus.
Those refugees and asylum seekers on Manus have suffered tremendously for four years. They fled persecution in their homeland only to be further persecuted by the Australian Government and the PNG local people.
The PNG Commissioner of Police has said he cannot guarantee the refugees’ safety so it is understandable that they are afraid to move into the community with no protection. ANDREA CALLAGHAN, Hilton
