TOP of the ladder side Applecross had a solid win against a near full strength Bentley A Grade side this weekend.

Applecross were chasing a competitive score of 199 and although they batted cautiously, chased down the score with the loss of only five wickets,

Jarrod Aspinall made 93 off 191 deliveries, including seven fours, and Robbie Montgomery made 47 off 80 deliveries.

The best of the Bentley bowlers were Brendan Daye and Adam Palumbo with three and two wicket respectively.

In the next round, Bentley (seventh) return to Wyong Reserve to play Swan Valley (sixth) in a game that is crucial to both clubs.

Bentley’s second side won its first game for the season with an outstanding win at home against Swan Athletic Caversham, dismissing them for only 139 chasing Bentley's score of 193.

Bentleys third and fourth teams had bad losses making 153 and 63 in their respective games with only Chris Pritchard making a reasonable score of 33, which should see him being promoted up the grades this weekend.

Bentley’s One Day side failed to capitalise on solid starts from top order batsmen, falling short of the run chase set by Subiaco Marist of 6-181 making 176. The loss sees Bentley drop to third place on the ladder ahead of its game against Western Suburbs this weekend.
