ONE of King Edward Memorial Hospital’s little patients is celebrating 100 years of longevity. Irene Nicholas was born on July 22, 1918, at the original KEMH at Harvey House just two years after the hospital opened. Mrs Nicholas has lived on the same street in Queens Park for her whole life, coming home from the hospital to one house and moving five doors down years later with her own family. Mrs Nicholas has three sons, nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren and celebrated her 100th with a family party on July 22.
