Gomes adds glitz to opening
PERTH-RAISED model Jessica Gomes will be a star attraction when shoppers get their first look at Carousel shopping centre’s expansion on Thursday morning.
About 70 new shops are set to open in the new fashion mall, anchored by a two-storey David Jones department store.
Gomes, the face of David Jones, will be among those helping at a ceremonial ribboncutting just before 9am.
“I am so excited to be returning to my hometown,” she said.
“Growing up in Perth, I always loved the vibrant colours and relaxed fashion and know locals will love some of my favourite brands that will be available, such as Viktoria & Woods and C&M Camilla and Marc.”
Having appeared for several years in American publication Sports Illustrated, Gomes has recently released her own brand of beauty products called Equal Beauty and is expected to spend some time on Thursday speaking about the line.
Carousel’s fashion mall will also house WA’s first JD Sports and Vans stores, with G-Star Raw, Mecca, Seed, Sheike and Playtpus other new additions.
David Jones’ top floor also offers access to the centre’s ‘crown jewel’, a rooftop entertainment and dining hub that includes Perth’s first TGI Friday, Italian chain Criniti’s and an Asianinspired laneway.
The precinct connects to Hoyts Cinema and has an amphitheatre and stage.
Jessica Gomes will feature at the opening of Carousel shopping centre’s expansion.
