Officers taken on a cow chase in Monto

Central and North Burnett Times - - LOCAL NEWS -

YESTERDAY Monto started the day with a cow wandering up Newton St.

Staff at Café Delicious spotted the beast making its way through the rail yards and into the town centre.

Therese Seeney, an employee of the cafe, said she had never seen a cow walking through Monto – that is, until yesterday.

“It wandered up the footpath and we thought it would walk into the cafe or another shop”, she said.

Council officers were alerted to the situation and attempted to catch the cow in Newton St.

The chase led them through residential streets then out to a private property.

No one was injured in the chase, including the cow.
