Central and North Burnett Times - - LOCAL NEWS -

TODAY the people of Biggenden will say goodbye to their 24-hour ATM.

The auto teller machine, nowin the front windowof Biggenden Newsagency, will be removed and the glass window reinstated.

It is less than three years since the ATM was installed by The Rock but as the organisation recently joined the rediATMnetwork, the difficult decision was made to close this ATM along with many others due to insufficient transactions.

John and Sue Telford of Biggenden Newsagency said the closure was beyond their control.

“The Rock was happy as the ATM was making a profit for them,” they said.

“But the new owners believe there is not enough daily transaction to warrant retaining it.

“We are working on a couple of other banks and have a couple of options up our sleeve.

The couple said the townneeded the convenience of being able to access their moneywhenever they need it. “Hopefully it won’t be too long.” “We will be looking at a 24-hour machine...”
