FUEL economy took a back seat to stylewhen the BundabergVintageVehicle Club came to Gayndah.

The club took up the motto “slowand steady” as members journeyed across the back roads from the coast.

The convoy was made up of a 1923 Ford Model T, a 1944 Ford Army Jeep, a 1929 Hupmobile and a 1946 Chevrolet utility. All the cars were in immaculate condition, aside from the smattering of bugs on the windshield and grilles after the long drive.

Club president Ian Pearson said the club had made the trip out to Gayndah several times. “It’s a very scenic drive,” he said. “We came in through Eidsvold, Mundubbera and through Mt Perry.”

Members spent the weekend at Gayndah, visiting a local citrus orchard and the Gayndah Museum.
