Re­stock­ers snatch up young steers

VAL­UES re­mained firm on most de­scrip­tions at the sale in Mur­gon on Tues­day with the ex­cep­tion of lighter heifers, which were eas­ier.

Con­sign­ments were sent from Mun­dub­bera, Gayn­dah, Mt Perry, Yar­ra­man, Nanango and all lo­cal ar­eas.

Light bulls sold to 164c/kg to re­turn $722 while heav­ier bulls topped at 158c or $1050.

Heavy char­bray cows sold to 144c re­turn $951 while char­bray cows from Yar­ra­man sold for 142c to re­alise a to­tal of $960.

Plainer-con­di­tioned drought­mas­ter cows sold to $571 at 460kg.

Feeder steers, at 351kg, sold for $650 at 185c with charo­lais-cross steers from Hivesville at 320kg sold for 190c to re­turn $610.

Drought­mas­ter weaner steers from Mun­dub­bera sold to lo­cal re­stock­ers for $500 at 266kg.

Santa-cross weaner steers weigh­ing 226kg from Green­view sold for 215c to re­turn the ven­dor $485.

Light char­bray weaner steers from Goomeri sold to 207c.

An­gus-cross heifers from Yar­ra­man sold for $575 at 170c.

Santa cross vealer heifers fromWondai sold for $377 at 183c.
